ABOUT REBECCA

Rebecca Pynoos, a 3rd generation Angeleno and two-time city commissioner, brings knowledge of urban planning, policy, and work with vulnerable populations to her candidacy for the Los Angeles County Democratic Party Central Committee in Assembly District 51. She was recommended to run by members of the Westside Young Democrats, where she was previously selected as a Policy Director. Rebecca recently completed fellowships with both the Coro Lead LA Program and the Rautenberg New Leaders Project, training emerging civic leaders to address our region's greatest challenges. She is uniquely positioned to help ensure the region's values are well-represented in candidate endorsements and policy positions.

Rebecca has served as a City Commissioner for nearly 10 years in Beverly Hills and in leadership capacities across the region. She served 5 years as Vice Chair of the West LA Community Coalition, representing the West LA-Sawtelle area, and 5 years as part of the Metro Docent Council. She believes in being a strong local leader and regional connector. She supports policies that promote  safe, livable and sustainable communities and those advancing equality and social protections, including women's rights and reproductive freedom, environmental sustainability, protections for older adults, and affordable housing. She holds a BA from Brandeis University, a Masters in Social Work from USC, a certificate in urban planning from UC Berkeley and has participated in continuing education in areas of architecture and sustainability.

"

Rebecca Pynoos will be an exceptional member of the Democratic Party Central Committee.  I served on a city commission with her for eight years, and saw firsthand that she's a thoughtful, hard-working, energetic, empathetic leader.  Rebecca is a person of high character, conviction and vision.  She's passionate about improving our communities, dedicated to the inclusive, democratic ideals we all cherish, and will represent us well.  I urge you to join me in voting for Rebecca Pynoos for Democratic Party Central Committee.
